A meditation on the Moon Path

The Moon and Her reflection is a perfect symbol to summon into deep meditation for its meaning as both Terrestrial and Celestial expression. In following the Moon Path we are called to remember the Sacred Symbol of the World Tree rooted in an ancient legacy which is the Gaian system. This sacred Tree is one billions of years in the churning emergence of spirit through evolutionary form. The World Tree also calls us to visualize Her branches extended into the infinite possibilities of the multi-layered Universes, gently touching her natural satellite, the Moon, which exerts a powerful equilibrium over the planet's life systems. This equilibrium is both imminent and transcendent in our lives and the lives of all creatures upon this world. We are each temporary, physical expressions of individuality within the eternal Whole. All things are therefore known to be of sacred value by their own right from the microcosm to the macrocosm.

Eons ago, out of the chaos of a star's birth, order was ushered in upon our magical Sphere of life. This order of Life - whether it was brought in or emerged herein, was the breath of the Gods germinating the fertile yet then lifeless Earth. From this love making, She was born as a magnificent and unique Planetary expression manifesting all of Her countless faces, the cell, the trilobite, the dinosaur and mammoth, amongst whom we, the human, a creature of such magnificent potential, would eventually count ourselves. This same power has manifested the Lunar system, whose perfect size on its perfect orbit can align with our Sun and generate a language of eclipses to us.

The Deep Magick of the Mother is reflected upon the Moon Path. It illuminates every cell within our body, every energetic vibration sent forward, every bird's flight beyond the horizon, every seedling's gesture through the soils, every Earth-creatures' shared breath between land and sea. The Moon Path reflects the supreme, creative sentience of the Gods, whose acts collectively bring order out of chaos, on both Earth and throughout Cosmos. We can continue to practice having the faith uttered by many Sorcerers, and know that we can walk upon the waters, following forever Her bridgeway between the Earth and the Stars. Through this meditation may we be authentically empowered by the deep secrets of the tenant, "As Above, So Below."

Thank You for making this Drum Circle

Many contributors - and that is including You! - have built this circle. The original vision of this circle stands, that this is an intentional, inclusive Drum Circle marking the Seasonal shifts of the Planet. It has a spiritual flare where all inclusive, progressive and life-affirming paths may express during a brief celebration to the season. Each season a different representative, a Clergy person, Priest, Priestess, Mystic, Pastor, Cleric, Bard, and etc offer a glimpse into a 'way' as an expression in honor of the Season and in honor of life-affirmation.

Who we are

Moon Path Circle is more specifically a Church of Pagan Clergy who are a group of Eclectic, Solitary Pagans who have joined into a very autonomous covenant. We meet most frequently at the Unitarian Church of Fort Lauderdale offering celebrations, events and workshops. The Tequesta Drum Circle is one of our first community activities and we are elated to work collectively in the broader spiritual and life-arffirming circles. We are all Circles within Circles after all and part and parcel to the same life. More importantly we have been seeking outreach and community service involvement which include canned food drives, volunteer work, environmental support and more. We want to be clear that even as we identify ourselves as Pagan, the Tequesta Drum Circle is not a Pagan-specific event. Anyone with a positive, life-affirming view and offering, anyone who is a lover of the Earth of Nature and of humanity is welcome.

The term Pagan sometimes throws some people off - though fortunately less and less as there are now millions of Pagans in the United States alone and we have officially been recognized as a legitimate, not a fringe, spiritual path/religion. The term Pagan is not one thing either, as some might think. Paganism is an inclusive umbrella-term for many Earth-based spiritual practices. In turn, the term Earth-based expresses the varied traditions' shared reverence for Imminent Spirit within Nature.

Paganism can be Polytheist, Animist, Shamanic, Pantheist, Panentheist, Monotheist, Agnostic and even Atheist.  In fact many folks who affiliate with some aspect of "Paganism" might affiliate themselves with an aspect of, say, Christianity or Hinduism or Shamanism. It all depends on the individual and their attraction to a particular perception of and then approach to this Reality. In short, to be Pagan is in line with the Aquarian energy that each individual can only have a very personal approach to "The Divine," whether the Divine is addressed as God, Goddess, Great Spirit, The Force, etc. This is in contrast to old paradigms that required a "leader" of sorts to mediate their spirituality to the Higher Power.

The Tequesta Drum Circle is one of Moon Path Circle's most treasured offerings to the community four times a year during the Fall Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice. Its core intention, along with its  founding creators and affiliates and sponsors, is to bring the broader Drumming, Spiritual, Earth-based, Yogi, Belly Dancing, Poi, Intentional type communities together for a life-affirming, love-affirming shared celebration where we remember together our tribal family origins as a species of the Great Mother Earth and of the Great Mother-Father Spirit both Imminent in Finite Form and Transcendent in Eternality.

For over four years it has been such an uplifting opportunity for us to share with others in a reverent celebration of our Planet - our sentient and ancient Mother Gaia - and all of Her astoundingly complex ecosystems and creatures. It has been an eagerly awaited opportunity to mark our World's seasons together, to celebrate each of our divine nature in Namaste, which conveys: "The Divinity in Me bows to the Divinity in You." It is our opportunity to expand and create and move into the ecstatic meditation of the Drum.
